OTHER COLLECTIVE HOUSING NETWORK IN THE US

Collective Housing Society of Greater Vancouver

  • The Collective Housing Society is a non-profit society providing education, resources, advocacy and networking in support of  British Columbia's Collective Housing movement.

  • Collective Housing is an affordable housing model that utilizes existing dwellings, predominantly single-family homes. This movement is on the spectrum of medium to long-term shared living, where its residents – ranging from families with children to single adults – choose to intentionally share personal living space and daily lives. This often includes food and meals, common values, decision-making and household responsibilities. Where shared housing is about sharing a house, Collective Housing focuses on building a home.

Vancouver Collective Houses Network (14,000+ members) + old website

  • If you want to livewith people where you share some amount of belongings, money for groceries, shopping and cooking, ie if you want to live in a small urban commune, post here. Please say explicitly in your post what is collective / communal in your house. what money do you share, what food do you share, how often do you cook for each other, what other resources or skills do you share or own all together rather than individually.

FB: Seattle Cooperative Housing Network:

  • The goal of this network is to enable cooperation among housing cooperatives in Seattle. There is a need to come together as people who live in or want to live in cooperative housing in our city. By living in co-ops we are building community, fighting systems of oppression, decreasing our environmental footprints, and living more affordably. And by networking with each other we can build stronger communities, achieve greater reach in our organizing, share opportunities and resources, learn from each other, and have a lot of fun!

Denver Collective Housing Network:

  • This page is dedicated to two things. 1) a forum to find or advertise collective/cooperative/community oriented rooms/houses and 2) to promote collective/cooperative culture and projects. This site emerged out of numerous meetings in the summer of '12. We attempted to create a more intensive, interdependent relationship between a number of collectives in town. While the working group met over the course of a year, and attempted to create a number of different projects (a community produced agriculture system, a network and system of exchange of ideas, resources, skills, and knowledge), what eventually emerged from this was a deeper friendship among the houses and this webpage, which could be the catalyst for more organizing... For now, post your room openings, events, work days, and other collective oriented ideas! Welcome.

Bay Area: The People of Color Sustainable Housing Network (POCSHN)

  • We are committed to creating an entire ecosystem of POC-centered co-housing, cooperative housing, and intentional communities that are ecologically, emotionally, spiritually and culturally regenerative spaces. By supporting the creation of indigenous, low-income and people of color-led housing and land projects that focus on collective land ownership & stewardship, resident-controlled housing, and cooperative economic models, the People of Color Sustainable Housing Network hopes to foster long-term replicable strategies and tactics for housing, food and land-use movements.
